CARE Committee

The CARE Committee was established in 2005 to extend Christian care and concern to church families and individuals who have a wide range of unmet needs.  The name CARE identifies its mission of Compassion, Attention, Response  and Empathy.

Some of the projects and activities the CARE Committee has undertaken are:

1.  Monthly Visitors Roster – The list of volunteers who plan to accompany Pastor
Stephen on Thursday visits to shut-in members and constituents in hospitals,
nursing homes or their own homes.

2.  Telephone Tree – The procedure used to inform parishioners when there is a
death in the church family or to cancel worship services for bad weather, etc.

3.  Pictorial Telephone Directory – Means of staying in touch.  The CARE Committee
managed the production of the current edition.

    4.  The Giving Tree (mounted on hallway bulletin board) – The means of acknowledging appreciation and thanks to someone or some group who has brightened the life of the thankful writer or the lives of others through service, prayers, kindness or
thoughtfulness.

CARE Committee members also assist church members with transportation issues, for instance, getting folks who no longer drive to doctor appointments.  Make and distribute miniature flower arrangements to persons hospitalized or under nursing home care.  It also sponsors an annual Ice Cream Social and Hymn Sing.

The CARE Committee meets monthly on the third Thursday at 1 p.m.  The members are:
