Pockets was designed for the personal use of children to help them grow in their relationship with God. Focus groups of children helped to name the magazine. The idea behind the name Pockets is that children put wonderful things in their pockets,  and  that  this  magazine  for  children  is  full  of  wonderful  things.

The  General  Board of Discipleship  promotes  this  magazine  as  a  quality  resource  for children.
