For leisure, Reverend Mary Kay enjoys travel and spending time with friends and family. She likes to read,
do needlework, learn, and sing. When prodded Reverend Mary Kay will admit that she considers herself an amateur poet.
When asked about Providence - Fort Washington United Methodist Church, Reverend Mary Kay said, "it is my honor to serve as pastor of this unique and special congregation. I look forward to getting to know everyone here and to our shared ministry for Christ for a long time to come."

Since July 1, 2006, Reverend Mary Kay Totty has been serving as pastor of Providence - Fort Washington United Methodist Church. Reverend Mary Kay comes to our congregation with seventeen years experience in fulltime parish ministry, most recently as pastor of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in New Windsor, Maryland for the past eight years.
Reverend Mary Kay received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana State University with a double major in English Literature and Religious Studies. Upon completion of her undergraduate degree, she entered seminary at Brite Divinity School of Texas Christian University and earned her Masters of Divinity degree in preparation for service in the church. Reverend Mary Kay is an ordained elder in full connection of the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church.
In parish ministry, Reverend Mary Kay loves preaching and planning worship. She also enjoys teaching and the program ministries of the church. Additionally, she brings skills in administration, communication and community building.
